Mid Year Check in time!

6/7/2018

How're you travelling?

Now that the year has passed the halfway mark its time for the SWADE team to take stock of where we have managed to get to so far, where we've been and where we still need to get to before the Christmas scams hit the inboxes.
The first part of the year we have been working with CRCs and Neighbourhood Centres, our role as capacity builders is to work with your centre, work with you and your digital mentors and trainers to make sure you're getting the best out of the Be Connected program, and that your learners are signing up to count towards your targets!

Now that some centres are well and truly into the swing of supporting their seniors on their digital literacy journey, it's time for us to ask you what else do you need from us? How can we help you sign your seniors up? What other resources does your team need?

We understand that the first half of the year has been a bit of a challenge for many Centres, with both CRCs and NCs facing uncertainty and challenges around their funding. So to those who're already in and working towards your second grant (Building Digital Skills), well done!  Your next steps and focus needs to be focussing on those targets while making a real difference to your learners, their experience and confidence!  So we're asking, what do you need from your SWADE team to help you get those numbers? Have you signed up to ASCCA yet to explore all of the resources available to ASCCA members?

If you're one of the centres yet to jump on the Activation Grants, or if you've managed that but now need some inspiration or support to get yourselves ready for the Building Digital Skills grants and need our help, then let us know that would help you the most and we will see what will work best to get your centre up and cracking!  We will be running some more of the Be Connected Portal Workshop sessions this month, with a focus on centres just starting out.

In addition to those repeat sessions, I have opened up some one on one sessions on the online bookings for those who aren't able to attend any of the scheduled group sessions. These will be available for anything you'd like to discuss about the Be Connected program, from the first steps you need to take to make a start to value adding or just asking questions!  We have also just set up our July & August group sessions for you to book, we still have one more place in our July Challenges & Successes session next Tuesday, 10th July, book the last spot now if you would like to participate!

I will also be working towards calling each of you over the next few weeks just to check in on you if we haven't heard from you!  I'm looking forward to chatting to you all about how you're going with the project and hearing your success stories!
