ASCCA
The Australian Seniors Computer Clubs Association, or ASCCA, is the national peak body for seniors and technology.
Their mission is to assist Seniors Computer Clubs to educate seniors in using digital technology to enrich their lives and make them more self-reliant. They bridge the generation gap and assist seniors to benefit the community through their collective experience and knowledge. |
ASCCA was formed on 7 August 1998 and became an incorporated association on 14 August 1998. It became a not for profit company limited by guarantee on 21 August 2001.
ASCCA supports and encourages seniors to take advantage of modern information technology to meet their individual needs and to provide further challenges. To become computer literate at their own pace, in a friendly non-threatening environment and to have fun whilst doing so.
ASCCA has become a catalyst to enthuse, encourage, empower and assist seniors to explore computer technology.
In the 21st century, information technology includes not just computers, but also mobile phones, webcams, iPads and many other emerging technologies.
ASCCA undertakes projects to support IT for Seniors, and organises seminars, training sessions for the mature aged and club volunteers, workshops and similar activities.
In addition, there is an annual two day conference, open to all seniors, where many areas of information technology, communications issues of interest to seniors are covered.

- Assist communities establish computer clubs for seniors wherever a need exists.
- Support and assist existing clubs grow and remain viable.
- Provide training for club trainers and potential trainers.
- Develop training resources for use by computer clubs.
- Provide awareness about Cyber Security.
- Broaden the vision and understanding of available technology and what is possible.
- Help educate seniors about accessing information, government services and communications via the Internet.
- Liaise with all levels of government regarding policy issues affecting information communication technology and seniors.
Linkwest
Linkwest is the peak body representing Western Australian Neighbourhood and Community Resource Centres. These Centres work at the heart of communities, assisting many thousands of individuals, and contributing to improvements in public health and local community development. |
They offer and provide activities, programs and services that support the objectives of social inclusion and address a multitude of factors that can lead to social exclusion. Most are community managed not-for-profits, and while each Centre is unique - reflecting the needs and aspirations of their local community - all are local and welcoming to everyone, which makes for stronger, healthier communities.
Linkwest's vision is for vibrant, inclusive, connected communities, and as the peak for this vital network, its primary purpose is to assist Centres be the best that they can be, to ensure they remain a part of the local landscape for generations to come.
Linkwest offers a range of services to its members including: training and networking opportunities, resources, information advice and guidance in areas such as Centre Governance, policies, and mediation, funding opportunities, and marketing tools.
With a history spanning over 36 years, a strong and positive reputation, and a network of members that spans the length and breadth of Western Australia, Linkwest is a sought after partner and collaborator on projects where positive outcomes for community are a priority.
